Banned in the Tube – Roman goddess, and a Graffiti face

The Tube by Transport for London (TfL) or its advertising contractors are censoring advertisement. A poster showing the band Massive Attack’s artwork for their new album Heligoland is the latest advert to be rejected by TfL’s advertising department.

The trip-hop twosome were forbidden from advertising their new record Heligoland on the tube because officials said it looked like graffiti.

In February 2008, a poster featuring a 16th Century painting depicting Venus, the Roman goddess of love, in the nude, was banned from the Tube!
