There are a plethora of new Murakami pieces will come to the States this month. The Monogram Multicolore is the creative result of the collaboration between Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami in the Spring/Summer Collection back in 2003, much like the pieces that were readily available for his show at the MOCA in 2007. We’ve seen several variations of the Multicolore throughout the years, this year, the latest would be the Multicolore Spring Pallete which is a revamp of the wallets and small leather goods in the Monogram Multicolore line. More colorful than usual, these new wallets will be have an eye-popping colored lining that are similar to the Insolite Wallets. .

The release date of the Multicolore Spring Pallete is set to be on April 28 2009, and to commemorate this milestone, Takashi Murakami has created an animation entitled Superflat First Love, a follow-up to his successful Louis Vuitton project back in 2003; the Superflat Monogram. The video will be released on Louis Vuitton’s website this month.

And for those who lives in Japan, a special display of this new Murakami animation will be featured in the Omotesando store in Tokyo from April 28. Smaller displays will also be added at other Louis Vuitton stores across Japan.
