Many of us grew up on both of these series, finally after more than a decade of Fight madness we will see this collaboration. Because of branding and rivarly, I thought I would never see the day, but the trailer of Street Fighter “Cross” Tekken, debuted at Comicon this weekend.

“Street Fighter X Tekken,” the long-rumored crossover game between the legendary fighting series, was announced at the Street Fighter Mania panel at Comic-Con International on July 23. The producers of the two game series went head-to-head against each other in an early playable version of the game, giving fans a sneak peak how the game will play. This was just one of many announcements regarding the “Street Fighter” series made at the panel.

Street Fighter X Tekken is in development for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and will feature warriors from the two bastions of the fighting genre coming together for the first time. Capcom says the game will use the same technology that powered Street Fighter IV.

Tekken characters like Kazuya Mishima and Nina Williams will make the transition into the Street Fighter universe having been re-imagined using the much loved art style of the Street Fighter games while “retaining their unique characteristics and signature moves”.

The Visuals say enough so I don’t have too, perfectly complimenting the sonar pleasures.

Let me just start by saying that this movie was sick. There were twist and turns that had you thinking you knew what was going on…but then you were hit with a surprise that shocked you. One thing I liked was the  importance of the ‘totems’ and how they would keep each character from losing their grip on reality once inside a dream. Bob Cobb (Leonardo Dicaprio) suffers from unbearable guilt, and have a tough time handling the nature of reality. His suffering plays a huge role throughout the entire movie. His totem was a top that spun until it dropped….if the top kept spinning and never drops; it means he is still dreaming.

The fight scene was really different then any other fight scene I’ve seen before, due to the fact that they were fighting with no gravity. Matrix had a similar sense of defying gravity…but this scene was no gravity the whole time.

I recommend watching this movie if you like movies that are really in depth and intensive.

GETTING RID OF ALL THE CARS

I already know what you’re thinking, so don’t send me an email asking me just yet. The secret all lies in the power of masking. If you take a series of photos of, for example, a freeway, there’s more than likely going to be places where the cars aren’t in the exact same spot.

So if you layer 10 or so images over each other in Photoshop, you can edit out all the parts where the cars aren’t. It also helps to take the shot when traffic is really light. After that, you end up with a shot like this.

Since all the shots I took were high res still images AND the camera never moved, I could simply layer the freeway parts of the image on top of my video. Here’s an image of a mask.

I combined the mask and the video in Final Cut Pro, and, since I was dealing with high res imagery, I had enough resolution to zoom and pan the shot to my liking.

KAWS at it again..

Just got back from watching the almighty “Eclipse”. For someone like me who doesn’t know every extreme detail of the movie, I still found it some what entertaining. For those who have not seen the movie yet and do not want to spoil there experience, you may want to stop reading now.  First I would like to bring up a scene where Jacob, Bella, and Edward are together inside a tent. Bella gets cold and looks as if she is going to freeze; when Jacob takes initiative by using his ‘hot blooded’ skin and slips under the covers with Bella. Yes, Edward is sitting and watching like a mad man while Jacob spoons his love. At this point it was already awkward until it got worse. Bella falls asleep in Jacobs arms, which gives Jacob the opportunity to tell Edward how he really feels about him. They start talking about how they both feel for Bella and such…and then at some point your mind will think there’s going to be some weird threesome action.Which is great for die hard Twilight fans I guess.

The last war between the new breeds X Victoria vs. the Cullen family X Wolf pack was probably the highest point in the movie. You get to see the wolves rip people apart while the new breed vampires are getting their crystal heads torn off. This battle leads up to Victoria fighting Edward in a scene where it looks as if Edward is going to lose until Bella does something that saves Edwards life. I can’t say what she does…that gives away too much. The scene starts to slow down until a straggler new breed is late to the party and arrives while team vampire and team wolf are chatting about their victory. The straggler new breed somehow gets a hold of Jacob and squeezes his body until half his doggy bones are broken. Jacob is severely hurt but is probably gonna be okay.

While writing this blog I searched on the web to  find pictures I can use to insert through the text. I didn’t want to use traditional Twilight pictures, so I searched for ‘Twilight art’…. I came across this comic strip.

A video has been circulating recently featuring Guillaume Nery, a world champion freediver, performing a unique dive into Dean’s Blue Hole; the deepest under water sink hole of it’s sort on the planet. It plunges 202 meters deep into a bay west of Clarence Town on Long Island, Bahamas. Nery was filmed  by fellow French champion-diver Julie Gautier for a few consecutive days in order to capture the films breath-taking images. It is originally intended by the two divers to be a work of “fiction,” as the film gives the impression that Nery reaches the bottom of the sinkhole, though he never truly did. Nery has said he wished to use the film as a means of showing what freediving is, and the complexity of the sport.

It is a beautiful film regardless, and captures the raw thrill of free-diving for the many people who have yet to witness the sport.
