All we need is love. And all love needs these days is a little boost from technology to get it going, the sparks flying and the flame burning. In your moms and dads days it was the invention of the phone and automobile that did the trick. Now, it’s virtual dating, social networking, genetic partnering and the scent of a woman.

But we are not alone…

The theory that people can “sniff out” their partners appears to be confirmed by research from Cambridge University. The study reveals how a breed of monkeys uses scent to avoid the potentially genetic disaster of mating with partners too closely related. “You might have heard of studies which show that women prefer the odor of genetically different men.

Mandrills can use body odor to identify potential mates, researchers have found, in a study which lends new support to the theory that humans also have the ability to “sniff out” suitable partners.

Darwin defined sexual selection as the effects of the “struggle between the individuals of one sex, generally the males, for the possession of the other sex”. Biologists today distinguish between “male to male combat” (it is usually males who fight each other), “mate choice” (usually female choice of male mates) and sexual conflict.

Many of us grew up on both of these series, finally after more than a decade of Fight madness we will see this collaboration. Because of branding and rivarly, I thought I would never see the day, but the trailer of Street Fighter “Cross” Tekken, debuted at Comicon this weekend.

“Street Fighter X Tekken,” the long-rumored crossover game between the legendary fighting series, was announced at the Street Fighter Mania panel at Comic-Con International on July 23. The producers of the two game series went head-to-head against each other in an early playable version of the game, giving fans a sneak peak how the game will play. This was just one of many announcements regarding the “Street Fighter” series made at the panel.

Street Fighter X Tekken is in development for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and will feature warriors from the two bastions of the fighting genre coming together for the first time. Capcom says the game will use the same technology that powered Street Fighter IV.

Tekken characters like Kazuya Mishima and Nina Williams will make the transition into the Street Fighter universe having been re-imagined using the much loved art style of the Street Fighter games while “retaining their unique characteristics and signature moves”.

Hip Hop phenom Drake has recently postponed the European part of his Home Away From Home Tour due to a family emergency. The situation was due to his mother, who is undergoing an unknown surgery which came sooner than expected and according to Drake, the cancellation of his tour could not be avoided. The rapper states that I have made the difficult decision to cancel my European tour in order to support her during her recovery, just as she supported me through the years,” Drake said in a statement. “I cannot thank my European fans enough and look forward to performing abroad soon. I ask everyone to please respect my family’s privacy during this time.”

Drizzy Drake has canceled a total of 10 dates on the European leg of the Home Away From Home Tour, which was supposed to start July 2nd in Norway. Other upcoming shows in Paris, Amsterdam, and London are already being scheduled for November and tickets will be honored for the new rescheduled date. To all the his hometown Canadian fans the Home Away From Home Tour will kick off again on July 16th at Ottawa Bluesfest.

Multi-platnium hip hop artist Kanye West catches yet another case. While in the midst of a pending case with rap mogul Suge Knight, West is also being sued for stealing the lyrics to one of the biggest songs of his career. Virginia rapper Vincent “Vince P.” Perters claims Kanye took lyrics he wrote and used them for his 2007 hit “Stronger”.

The suit states West’s song “copies significant and important parts of Vince P’s lyrics identically or almost identically.” Peters claims he sent a copy of his version of the song to Kanye’s manager John Monopoly, hoping he would be the executive producer for his project. Peters case is based on similar lyrics in both songs which include a reference to Kate Moss, ““that which does not kill me makes me stronger,” “can’t wait much longer,” and the use of the word “wronger.” The pending suit demands that Kanye and his label are to pay an undisclosed amount of money, prohibited from selling, performing, or distribuiting the allegedly copyrighted song, and all the copies of the song are to be destroyed.
