Civil X Live Cypher…

22 Jan 2010 / 1 Comment

Each month, my man Joe Knox, uber-talented musician and bboy, hosts a live cypher for bboys and musicians. The concept is simple but brilliant, a lot of times this being used only for jams.

But why not for cyphers as well? It gives the opportunity for all the local and foreign talent something to look forward to. Not only is there crowd participation in the dancing, but there are a multitude of instruments such as drums, tambourine, maracas, one can play along with the band. There is nothing more raw than the feeling of a live ill jazz funk band, where you can improvise your dancing as well as much.

Civil had the opportunity to share the stage with these bboys, preserving and supporting a real raw culture that only few clothing lines have touched. Everyone wants to represent some sort of lifestyle and set that image. But what have you done lately? Its all about getting your hands wet and truly showing what this culture is about.
